Details of Manufacturing Process of Component
INCOMING RAW MATERIAL INSPECTION
Sample of bars in each heat is taken out and given for chemical testing on spectro machine at Spark Testing Services Bhosari, Metalogical services Pune. ( Telco Approved Laboratory ) and other tests are conducted.
If material found OK all bars are colour coded as per colour code chart and if it is rejected, it is kept in rejection bay.
Steel bars in various sizes, cut into size as per the jobs on raw material bandsaw & power Hacksaw Machine. The material thus cut is stored near furnace for further treatment. (End pieces and shorter length bar are stored separately as per Specification)
The above material (steel bar pieces) are heated in oil fired furnace near about its forging temperature 1200 degree centigrade approx.
While the above material as is being heated in the furnace, scaling occurs on the surface of the steel bars. Such scaling is removed in decaling process.
FORGING & TRIMMING
The above material heated in the furnace for proper temperature is taken on the die and pre forging is done (i.e. Rolling, Blocker etc.), after pre forging, it is taken on the impression and after that, giving required hammer blows in finisher, it is forged. After the material is forged, the excess material i.e. Flash is cut on the Trimming Press.
Hot inspection is carried out after every half an hour and parameters are noted in Inspection Report.
After trimming, forgings are placed in cooling bay where they are cooled automatically in Atmosphere.
Grinding is done to remove excessive flash and Trimming burr.
Depending upon the customer’s specification, Normalizing, annealing, hardening & tempering.
Hardness testing and Micro Examinations are Carried out.
Depending upon criticality of the component.
To remove scales and to improve surface finish.
As per Sampling Plan.

Packing is accompanied with Raw Material T.C. & Pre Dispatch Inspection Report.
